MWM is a unique destination for anyone who loves to learn about wildlife. The Great Smoky Mountains are one of the most popular national parks in the United States. It’s also one of the most visited national parks in America. In fact, according to the National Park Service, the park has more than 40 million visitors each year.

The Great Smoky Mountains

The Great Smoky Mountains are located in Tennessee and North Carolina. They’re a mountain range that extends for about 800 miles along the border between those two states. There are over 1,200 peaks that rise above 6,000 feet (1,829 m) in elevation within the park’s borders.

The mountains were formed during the Pleistocene epoch when glaciers carved out valleys and canyons. The glaciers also created a unique ecosystem that includes more than 400 species of plants, including more than 100 kinds of trees and shrubs such as oak trees and hickory trees as well as more than 200 species of wildflowers such as azaleas and rhododendrons which thrive here because of its moderate temperatures year-round instead of cold winters like many other areas have throughout much of North America.

The mountains are a popular tourist destination due to their distinctive appearance, as well as their history, which includes natural wonders such as waterfalls and caves.
